Dr. Matt Ormerod, BHK, DIP SPSC, DC
Dr. Matthew Ormerod, a member of the College of Chiropractors of BC, graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) receiving clinical honors recognition for his internships at the St Johns Rehabilitation Hospital and CMCC campus clinics. Dr. Ormerod is Graston certified and is trained in ART of which he will complete his full body certification later this year. Matt holds a Bachelor of Human Kinetics from the University of British Columbia and a Sports Science Diploma from Douglas College. Having worked as a personal trainer, kinesiologist, coach and athlete in the past, Dr. Ormerod is very interested in the roles that activity and manual therapy plays in an individuals overall health and performance. Special interests currently include;
- The role of specific activity in athletic and non-athletic populations to prevent injury and improve overall health.
- The prevention and treatment of concussions in sport
- The role of manual therapy in chronic autoimmune disorders
Outside of Chiropractic, Matt has always been an active member of the community, especially the local soccer community. He has coached at both the youth and varsity levels in Vancouver and has enjoyed playing at the provincial, varsity and semi professional levels. Matt also loves spending time around individual athletes such as triathletes, runners, cyclists and golfers whenever he can, as he feels they are prime examples of the potential for human performance.
Dr. Ormerod is also responsible for the Vancouver Riptide of the American Ultimate Disc League.
